Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) ONLINE

September 24th - November 12th ~ Tuesdays ~ Noon - 2:30 pm All-Day Retreat November 2nd ~ 1 pm - 8 pm

MBSR is a 8-week program developed by Dr.. Jon Kabat-Zin at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1979. The program was designed to benefit people with chronic stress related to illness, pain, and daily stressors. It is also appropriate for those who wish to improve their overall health and well-being and those who simply wish to experience more richness in their lives.

Throughout the 8-week course, participants are introduced to a variety of practices that are designed to cultivate self-awareness and presence. MBSR helps people learn new ways of relating to stress, pain and psychological distress; being with the body, emotions and difficult mind states; all while cultivating kindness and self-compassion. Participants recognize stressors and coping strategies and learn how to change habitual reactivity patterns. The course provides a framework to support people with connecting more fully to themselves, others, and their lives.

The program also supports participants to cultivate a regular and consistent meditation practice, which has been shown to have positive outcomes for improving the capacity to manage stress, emotional regulation, mood, memory and attention, coping with illness and pain, self-awareness, and self-compassion.
